The Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board experienced a major water main break on Newmark Avenue at the intersection of Edgewood Drive (East).  Water Board crews are currently onsite for the repair of the 12-inch water main.  Approximately 15 customers on Newmark Avenue between Brussels Street and Edgewood Drive (West); and Brussels Street between Newmark Avenue and Tower Street will experience water service interruption until the water main has been repaired.  Crews will continue to notify these customers door to door with updates concerning service restoration and pending boil water advisories.

Other Customers in the immediate area of Newmark Avenue, Broadway, and Highway 101 may experience discolored water.  Water Board crews are flushing lines in the area to clear any discoloration from the water system.   If customers experience discoloration, it is recommended to wait until the water clears before use.  We encourage customers that experience discoloration to please call the Water Board to report it to ensure we can respond appropriately.  Customers can call (541) 267-3128 to report discolored water.

The Water Board continues to work with City of North Bend Public Works and Emergency Services to facilitate repair work in the area.  The water main break caused major damage to parts of Newmark Avenue between Brussels Street and Edgewood Drive.  Newmark will remain closed until repairs have been completed and the area can be deemed safe for passthrough.  The Water Board and City of North Bend are requesting all residents to please avoid this area until further notice.  Your cooperation is highly appreciated as crews work diligently to resolve the issue.
