The Water Board is conducting a timber sale this year in the Pony Creek Watershed. We retained Stuntzner Engineering and Forestry of Coos Bay as our forestry consultant to plan, prepare bidding documents, and administer the sale. The sale is comprised of 34.6 acres in four separate tracts, encompassing six timber units as identified in the 2012 Watershed Management Plan. Three tracts are on the north side of Merritt Lake and adjacent to the City of Coos Bay’s 2014 sale; one tract is on the south side of Merritt Lake. Timber volume is estimated at 1,244 thousand board feet (MBF).
Bids were received by March 25, 2015 and awarded to Scott Timber Company of Roseburg for $497,096.00. A completion date of November 1, 2016 is specified.
